Goldstein Advances to State

Sophomore Jennifer Goldstein finished in 5th place at the NCS Championships Division 1 Varsity Girls race at Hayward High School on Nov. 22. Goldstein was focused all through the 3-mile race and was in 4th place for majority of the time until the last 100 meters. Her finishing time was 18:32. The other 6 runners that helped the Foothill girls reach a 9th place finish out of 17 teams were:
Megan Tabler – 19:20, 21st place
Mary Chambers – 20:47, 58th place
Ester Shchmelinin – 21:39, 72nd place
Mollie Richardson – 21:51, 75th place
Kristin Pedersen – 22:15, 81st place
Alyssa Goard – 23:15, 98th place
On the Division 1 Varsity Boys race, senior Matt Yankowski led the Falcons to an 8th place finish (out of 17 teams) and was a few seconds close to advancing to the state championship, finishing with a time of 16:06 and 17th overall. Junior Oliver Lange showed significant improvement and moved up in the leader board with a time of 16:41 and 36th overall. The other 5 runners who contributed to Foothill’s points were:

Omar Gonzalez – 17:00, 51st place
Will Loewenhardt – 17:03, 54th place
Davis Rajs – 17:23, 65th place
Tom Heppner – 17:23, 66th place
