 Foothill’s cross country runners traveled to Palo Alto on Saturday to compete at the Stanford Invitational. The winding 3-mile course around the Stanford Golf Course on a hot afternoon proved challenging for most of the runners. On the Varsity Boys team, Senior Matt Yankowski once again led the Falcons as he came across the finish line in 16:36 and 8th overall. Jim Heppner came in 44th overall with a time of 17:15 followed by Oliver Lange [18:37, 147th], Will Loewenhardt [18:37, 148th], Davis Rajs [18:41, 154th ], Omar Gonzalez [18:41, 154th], and Tom Heppner [19:10, 178th].
On the Varsity Girls side, only three runners competed. Ester Schemlinin had a finishing time of 22:58 [142nd] followed by Mary Chambers [23:14, 156th], and Stephanie Munro [24:04, 175th].
The Falcons will return to action on October 8 in their first EBAL Meet at Shadow Cliffs Park.
