The 2010 Boys Volleyball Season Begins

The Falcons will begin the 2010 Season this week with two Non-League matches at home against strong MVAL teams from Fremont. On Tuesday, March 9, 2010, the Falcons will take on the Washington Husky. The match on Thursday, March 11, 2010, features a rematch of last year’s NCS Finals between Foothill and Mission San Jose Warriors.

The Falcons return nine players from the championship team last year, including five players who started on the team during the year. These players are Pat Berrigan (Middle Hitter), Justin Fung (Libero), Robbie Miller (Outside Hitter), Nick Csongor (Setter) and Jon Harold (Outside Hitter). In 2009, Fung, Berrigan and Miller received EBAL All-League honors. The other returning players (Nick Byron, Preston May, Ariel Sciammas and Colin Swerdon) garnered significant playing time during the 2009 Season and will definitely be major contributors on the team this season. Together with the new comers (Clay Bennett, Nick Johnson, Aaron Lee, Colby Marceau and Dakota Watterworth), they will provide added depth to all positions on the team.
